Really nice, very good. The vibe is great as is the song. My only nit is with the sound of the vocals, they sound a lil bit like they are in a tin can ir a metallic box. Its not the singing, I am guessing its the mic but I have no idea.
I was never a fan of country, as I get older I find I like it more and more. Certainly when its done well its good, and you do a great job with it.

Of course this doesn't sound like the aforementioned, and his stuff is about as close to country as I've really been -- not very, that is. So I can't comment much. But your song sounded pretty slick to me. Places me right back to your country, cruising through Nevada with the radio humming...

Thanks guys.... I spent so much time with the mix that I lost all objectivity. Today the vocal sounds metallic and harsh... too midrangy. It's the eq on the verb I think or too much midrange. I'll hit it tonight and loosen it up a little.
The mic is a AT 4050 going into a Joemeek Twin Q. I may try using a tube mic instead on this tune.

Ok.... I took all of the doubling and Lex reverb off. I also took off all the eq on the vocal. It sounds much more natural now. See what you think...

I like it. It doesnt sound as metallic as last nite's listen. The vocals are pretty dry but sound very good, it takes a brave soul to do this.
I really like the song. Sounds like the real McCoy, reminds me of the years I lived in Fort Worth.

Thank you very much. I am a "classically trained" pedal steeler, in that I trained in all the classic animal lodges... you know, elks, moose, etc.
I enjoyed your music immensely. I play fiddle very poorly but am fortunate to work with some of the best Texas has to offer. My pedal steel gigging is separate from my own music/songwriting efforts. I am just starting to really understand Sonar5PE and am amazed at the tools I have been missing using my old Mackie analog console. In a way, this is firing up my desire to write.
I probably have twenty plus songs written that I am now busy rewriting over and over... This really is fun and mentally challenging.
