Yea, but most of the people I know who buy Avalons and Focusrites wind up keeping them forever -- or untill they desperately need cash. And even then, they're the last things they get rid of after they've had 'em for at least 10 years.

In contrast, the average "rackspan" for the Joemeek is probably about 2-3 years before it's ebay fodder.

Chessrock, I was merely mimicking the causal fallacy you used to support your (implied) opinion. :D

So what exactly is your opinion, your point? People Chessrock knows sell their Meek gear after a few years, therefore Meek gear sucks? That, at least, is your implication from my viewpoint. If I'm incorrect, and if you actually have an experienced opinion about Meek gear, the VC1Q or the Twin Q, in particular, please let us hear it. Your opinion is certainly respected (at least by me) when it comes to budget and mid-level gear. Or is your earlier observation honestly just something "interesting to note" ?

My personal opinion is that it's a hit-or-miss kind of thing. It has a very specific set of applications it is well-suited for, and even then, it has to be in the proper context. But when it works, it really works. No doubt about it (I'm actually rather partial to it as a DI for Hammond style keys/organ).

Unfortunately, for a lot of people that just isn't very often, so those who wind up selling it are probably just playing the percentages and looking for something that will work on a more consitant basis on more things.

That's one theory, at least, but who knows? Could be just a coincidence.

Thanks Chessrock, I appreciate your candor, and I agree that the Meek VC1Q isn't the right box for everything. In fact, on a recent vocal (love ballad), I preferred the DMP3.
