Howdy Y'all!!!I just thought I'd post another of my many songs for you hungry critiques to ravage over.Seriously,I wrote this one about 20 years ago while doing some time in Texas.Let me know what you think.
"A Victim Of Circumstance" by:Michael L.Wilson
(verse1)Well,I woke up this mornin' to another boring day
And I picked up the paper to see what it had to say
Some woman was raped in the streets the other night
And another mob outbreak has the city full of fright
Chorus:It may sound a little funny but...it's all true
A victim of circumstance aren't you glad...it ain't you
(verse2)Well,I'm sittin' in jail cause my bail I just can't pay
And my woman's done left me I just got the news today
I'm all out of money and I need a cigarette
While my lawyer is laughin' while he brings me deeper in debt
Chorus:It may sound a little funny but...it's all true
A victim of circumstance aren't you glad...it ain't you
GUITAR!!!
(verse3)Well,I got out this mornin' and I'm lookin' for a job
And I just passed the mansion of whom they said I robbed
I know I'll find trouble again cause it follows me ev'rywhere
I just gotta keep my head up high and let you know that I still care
Chorus:It may sound a little funny but...it's all true
A victim of cicumstance aren't you glad...it ain't you

heh...damn thats been me too many times...always good to be able to relate to a lyric hehehe. but damn...as soon as I read that first line "I woke up this morning..." Bostons "more than a feeling" popped into my head and I ended up singing the first verse to it all the way to the chorus hehehe

Good jammin tune...Bostons not what Id put to it though. Reads like it'd be fun to play live :D

Sounds good. Has a real nice flow to it. I imagine it's a blues-kind a song. It would sure make good singing material. In the last phrase I wonder what you still care about. Is it the woman that left you or something?
