A little advice?, computer placement

ok...I´ll know I have to rearrange my recording space in a very near future, but til´ then, is it a bad idea to have the computer really close to a 8U hardware rackmount??, with the hardware effects being in use while recording, and editing in cubase?? For the moment I have a bad situation in my working space, and can choose between this option and have it on the floor, bad placement,...the soundcard has a breakout box that is also placed close to the hardware effects...just want to know weither this is a bad idea and wheter I should change the placement before I break something??....thanx for any advice!!

People have put computers right inside rack mount cases with effects units, there's no problem, that's what all the shielding prevents.

As long as everything isn't getting too hot it should be fine.
