Maybe this already exists in Sonar and I missed it somehow, but if not, tell me this isn't they way it should be.... if you agree, copy this next part and mail it to Cakewalk at Sonarsupport@cakewalk.com
Sonar should have a function that records audio from an effect plug (not in real time) to a seperate audio track. You could then save the settings on the plug, name the track after the name you gave the plug-in preset, and delete the plug from the track, freeing up mucho CPU space. A single track takes far less CPU than, say, a SonicTimeworks ReverbX. When you need to change something, just delete the track, bring up your preset, adjust it, and do it again. Right click on the plug, click "save as audio track" and delete the plug. You now have the effect without the CPU munching. This would also make it possible to get more effects in a mix than your processor will normally allow, or at least allows you to preview it properly without mixing it down WITH the audio, destructively. I like this. Alot.
Sound good?
