Ultra-newbie question:
I've finally purchased Sonar after toying with the demo and sizing it up against the competition for the last few months.
I am the guitarist/songwriter in a small rock and roll band. What I want to do is find a piece of software that's very compatible with Sonar (perhaps can be used as a DX Instrument plugin with Sonar) that allows me to add sythny fills and beat sounds to our otherwise analog tunes. Loop stuff like ACID is pretty cool, but I'd like to create sounds myself either through a MIDI keyboard or on-screen through a virtual keyboard, etc. I am not a good keyboardist, and I don't intend to write complex passages - just lines here and there to augmnent our songs.
Perhaps in the future I will use this piece of software to construct more complex pieces, so I'd like it to be capable of handling more advanced stuff. However, I don't want to blow $400 (US) on something overly-complicated like Native Instruments' Reaktor. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you very much.
