A few tunes I'd like to share with you (from my FUSION CD)

Hey there!!

I have been busy buying a house, and raising a new baby girl, and haven't posted here in a while...but, I wanted to share a few tunes from my CD...

Last year, I was very fortunate to have my CD released on Allan Holdsworth's label, Gnarly Geezer Records...

From that release, I received some great feedback from Steve Vai, Brett Garsed, Derryl Gabel, Shane Theriot, Greg Koch, Rusty Cooley...

This year, I have switched labels to Progressive Arts Music, which will give me better distribution and with the re-release, I went back into the studio and wrote a bonus track, and beefed up the guitar parts and the overall mix, making it a much better record...

Anyway, here's some music:

The first, fairly representative of the disc...

The second, a bonus track...I'm playing guitar and drums on this one...I sequenced the bass...

"Convergence" © 2003 Scott Jones

This one is a piece I wrote for solo Baritone Guitar, as a bonus track...

"Reflection of an Afterthought" © 2003 Scott Jones

Anyway, I hope this is cool to have posted these, I thought some folks might enjoy them...

listening to the solo piece right now - interesting envelope on the melody line. Is that characteristic of the baritone (sounds like a low Telly!), or is it your picking style?

Anyhow, nicely played, and very cool harmonic structure.

I used fingerpicking exclusively on this piece, which may account for the timbre you're hearing...

I typically use hybrid picking (a combination of pick and fingers), but I felt that this piece sounded better without the pick...

Anyway, I appreciate your time in listening!!

Seriously though, that's some great stuff. It looks like that playing for sixteen hours a day for years really paid off.

Yes, practicing HAS paid off...literally...I am VERY fortunate to ONLY play, compose, arrange, and record music for a living...for the last 13 years...out of 25 as a musician...VERY fortunate...and VERY grateful...
