One that I can insert into the chain that will only provide effects in the headphones of the vocalist. I won't be using it to provide effects that will be recorded.

So...any suggestions? I'm guessing hardware would be best so as to not introduce latency into the recording chain.

I have used an Art MR-1, an Art FX-1, and an Alesis NanoVerb (inserted into a Yamaha MT50 4-track cassette recorder) and found them useable...The Art MR-1 only has reverb settings, the Art FX-1 and the NanoVerb have other options besides reverb (like delay, chorus, and flange)...I just took a look on ebay and the Art MR-1 is going for less than $40, The NanoVerb is going for around $50, and the Art FX-1 is going for around $80.
