Recording Modus Operandi

I recorded this in a corner with a NT5 and a Tascam 2488 pre. Imported it into Waves using MBC and a little EQ. One take, one mono track.

Please let me know how it sounds on your system. Your critique is welcome.

lmao... classical gas is not classical music... as to the sound??? i'm on my laptop today and the speakers of course suck... so no real opinion...

Sounds awesome. Very rich, warm clear sound. I like it. I wish recording the grand piano was easier! It seems more accessable to get a "truer" sound with a guitar.

Thanks halfred. One of the most noticeable differences I found was using the right mic and finding the right distance from the source. The further away causes more of the room to be picked up. I tried this one in a corner in a vestibule and moved it around until I felt it was picking up a fair amount of the wall reflections and the reverb mixed in with the guitar. It required very little eqing and mostly on the low end.

Now all I need to do is practice alot more :)

Very nice full sound, though I would imagine, you'de have to cut some of the low end if you had a bass on it.
If I could play half as good as you, I'd be a happy man.....;)

Joey :)

Thanks joeym. I'm hoping to redo this in a couple weeks to get the melodies right and try out a few more room situations. Little steps, and lots of practice.
