Hi there everyone. I set myself this challenge a few weeks ago and so i thought I would get the ball rolling. I have a webdesign program on my laptop so I slapped together a free page. Or thats what I tried to do! cool fun.

My challenge is to write and try record 33 songs over the next 2 months and I have called this Summer Sessions, Spain. yehaa!

I dont care if the songs sound bad I just want to remember my time out here, plus give me more to do than just play on the beach.

I was wondering if you guys could follow me along, perhaps check out some songs sometime, and encourage me to get to song 33! You guys and this site are a real inspiration to me so thanks for that.

this is a new song

3. Always on my mind.

You're such a good song writer.......this is up to your usual standards. Very nice......
Won't spend much time on the sound since that's not your focus BUT....
It's pretty bright and silibant. Nice nice tune......cool backup vocals....

I really like your summer idea. Hope you get to 33! I like this song too! Keep them coming! Then, when its all done, take the collection as is and burn about 500 CDs and sell them to the world!

perfecto

Awsome a positive start! thanks guys. I really hope I dont come across as pretentious or big headed becasue thats not the point. This is just for fun and I want to see if i can nail 33 tracks! I know the mp3 clinic is for mixing but i know its for sharing too.

Well Lt. Bob, what a fantastic thing to say. I am off to write again. I should have done many backing vocals but I didnt want to at the time, just that crazy one. Its all one take. Cheers a lot. Later.

crawdad, the inspirer. Thanks for the boost! mmm great idea....

Don't have time to listen at the moment, but some comments on the website:

The Javascript triggered by your "about me" and "have a look" links is broken, at least in IE. The marginnaly helpful browser error-messager says "syntax error."

You should edit the title tag in the document head. It currently says "untitled document," which appears in the browser window's title bar and in the corresponding button on the Windows task bar.

Nice..not my favorite of your stuff. The guitar needs some mid-body but I guess that is not he point here.

Jazzy man.

Hey, what's that recorder on your site?

Cool tune

The mix is a bit light on the bottom, but nice and clear.

What's with those backing vocals that pop in there on the R at :48 then never return?

Your writing & performance are good as usual.:)

Groovy tune man... I checked this one out a while ago when I was messin' around on your website. :p I thought the BGV's came in a little too loud, and the main strummed git was a tad bit mid-ish, but over-all a very good "feel" for the type of song that it is.

Now I'm just waiting for you to post "For My Faults". :p

(did you get the unlimited storage on NWR yet so you can keep all your tunes up? let me know.)

Hey Erland , great tune! A little different feel for you, but very nice and uptempo. I'll be following you all the way to #33!

Twist

33 songs...YESSSSS... I'm getting 3 Erland Albums. :D

Okay, you cheeky sod...or whatever you guys call each other - Great tune...I don't use "great" all that often, but when I do, I mean it.

isn't like 33 a prime number or something? Wouldn't ya just rather go for an even 34? We outta vote on that, I'd think....

I vote 34.

Can you sing one in Spanish?:p

I'm more impressed by stuff that shines when it's done with few resources. Two guitars and a voice falls into that category. But how come you didn't repeat the multiple vocal thing? Damn, opportunity lost - that was magic.

What a very good piece of music. Good song, good performance, really good sound. BTW, I like the sound on the voice more than the sound on the guitars. Both sounds are good, but the voice is really clear - what mic did you use?

very happy, well done, and an inspiration to write a song instead of throwing together old takes and lining them with vulgarity

Nice writing Erland, good job. You gotta watch them Checzckolslovakia's they need they're bueaty slep at 4 a.m.

well this will be fun. 33 songs by erland with no middleman to pick my pocket! god bless the internet and god bless erland cooper.

Great, man! You're off to a good start! Only 32 to go :D

Very nice stuff here. I like the simplicity of it, but wish those bg vocals came back in which to me is the deepest part of the song...imho ... :)

Thanks for including us on your journey to 33!

:)

Can't listen at the moment but I will most definately!

What caught my eye is the 33 tunes!
Why 33? It just seems like a number with a purpose.:)

And if it's over this summer thats around 1 tune every 3 days!!!
Of course with a Wisconsin summer that would be 1 tune an hour!!!

A VERY ambitious challenge my friend!
I admire your Chutzpah and I'll be back after the listen!

Good Luck!

Good tune. I can't put my finger on it, but this song sounds very early 70's. Is it the minor chord progression? It might be even be the mix/production. Somewhat Cat Stevens-ish? Maybe Don McClean sounding. In any regard, I liked it.

I've always wondered why no one posts songs (for songwriting feedback - as opposed to mix feedback) in the "Songwriting forum". I've got several songs that I'd like to get feedback on, but I'm not ready to devote time to a serious mix yet. But, I've been hesitant to post them in the "MP3 Mix Forum"

Keep 'em coming.
