a bit of help with a cd r

Um, this may not be the best of places to ask, but i will anyways. I wnat to get a cd burner, and would like to know if i can burn movies from my hard drive or from video players/cameras, in DVD format to play on my DVD player. i would also like to know if there is any special cds i need, and the costs involved.
Do i need some sort of video card aswell?

nope, not yet. Half a year or so and you will be able to burn DVD's unless I am way out of the loop (like that would surprise any of us)

There are DVD burners out there. As a matter of fact Creative Labs is selling one at http://www.creativelabs.com
It sells for about $500.00 U.S.

But to answer your initial question Yes you can put home video on cd.
