Well, my first cable-making venture seems to have been successful, so I wanted to say thanks to the many helpful posters here who've posted their cable-making expertise here on the boards. Reading so much on what you've had to say has helped greatly not only in knowing how to do it, but in taking away some of the apprehension of my first attempt at soldering and making cables. So...thanks!

For those who are curious, I made a 2 channel pin 3 hot XLRF-TRS cable using Mogami stereo microphone cable and Neutrik ends. It will be used to go from the main L+R out of my console to whatever I'm mixing down to (presently an Echo Layla or open tracks on the HD24; hopefully in the future a Lynx and/or Otari MX5050).

I must say, the XLR connecters were far easier to solder than the TRS in my opinion. Now, on to that 8 channel XLR-TRS snake...

:)
