This is a sincere thank you to everyone who takes the time to give advice based on personal experiences with equipment.

A guy like me, a musician first, can come here, read, learn, post, wade thru the BS and buy with confidence. Im not, nor ever will be, a sound engineer..but i do like to record for rehearsal critique and demos...

I bought a marshall v67m today at mars (their having a big no-tax sale) for $99. I would have never even considered it without reading about it here..(the salesman looked at me funny when I asked for it..he had to go in back to get it..lol)

i came home..and just to check it out...ran it into my ART studio MP (also bought a while ago from suggestions here) and plugged it into my tascam 424...set it at a height right between the top of my acoustic (seagull s6+ spruce) and my chin on a boom stand....about 15" or so away....cue'd up, put on the headphones....and started playing and singing...

all i can say is:

WOW!!

I've playing non-stop for 2 hours!! it's that great of a sound!

since reading here i've bought:

...better cables, ntrack studio, the ART pre and the v67m.....other misc things...all from just trusting the advice here..and i personally am getting good use and am enjoying everything i have purchased.....

so........

Thanks:D:D

I second my appreciation to ALL that have responded to my questions. Thanks!!

WOOT!

Big ups to the Mic forum!

I'm somewhat of a message board junkie, and this is one of the very best I've found.

I'll third all that. This place is seriously helpful. I'd never have found out about ECM8000s without you lot!

Cheers.

I am very honored by all of your thanks and appreciation.

I promised myself I wouldnt cry, sob...

They love me... They really love me.:D

This BBS site is by far the BEST place you can go to find advice from some very experienced & seasoned pros. I still shake my head in utter amazement when Harvey Gerst [on a Sunday night no less] came to the rescue instructing me on how to disassemble my old trusty Sennheiser 421 when its broken case needed a quick replacement. That was too cool IMO. Yeah, this place rocks big time!

hey Lame Thrower you play quake 3? you sound like sarge with that "WOOOOOT!!" lol...
