Hello Fellow Home Recording members,

After reading through several posts these last few months and generally being addicted to several of your studio builds. I have decided to come out of the wood work and introduce myself.

My name is Thomas and I have been consumed by musical addiction for the last 17 years of my life. If I can think back correctly to my younger years I believe around 11 is when it started. I have always shared a love for guitar but have been exposed to the wonderful sounds of the saxophone, percussion and some light recording in my years of growth.

Within the past 2 years I have found a new joy toward home studio recording and just generally arranging my own work in useable form per say. I enjoy sharing many of the talents I have learned with others and look forward to always learning more. I have to say that Home Recording has motivated me to build my own studio desk for my little bedroom production suite I have built. I will share pictures as I near completion which should be shortly.

I look forward to my journey and collaboration with others alike among this forum.

-Here is to Music,

-Thomas

Hello Thomas

Now that wasn't a big hello this is a big Hello

Great to see ya hanging around these parts.

HA! Very funny. I didn't think about that. They say everything is bigger in Texas lol. Thanks for the welcome!

Can't wait to see what you have cooking in your studio.

I tried my first attempt at being a carpenter. Well, I have to say I was the apprentice while my Father did most of the cutting / measuring. I just assembled it. While I'm not ready to build an Ark, I was amazed at the outcome we have come to so far. I'll post pics up as soon as we get closer to finishing. We started out with three pieces of plywood and ended up with a desk that was designed in Sketch Up. : )

We should be painting this weekend.

Isn't it great creating such things with your own hands and that's a cool dad there jumping right in and passing along well needed skills.
Tell him you'll need his help building bass traps as well.

Moresound,

Yes indeed. I've always loved creating things. Actually I'm more of a conceptualist, usually seeing the entire picture from creative angles so that is why Sketch Up helps me. Geez, without it I think I might have ended up with a ton of sacrificial wood, yikes!! I have definitely enjoyed this last month that my Father and I have worked together on it. You know when I was younger in my teens I wasn't much into spending time with the family you know. Nowadays as a young adult, I love every minute with them. I've had the general design for the last year in my head I just had a bit more spare time recently so I decided what the heck let's do it. I have even made a few new friends at the local Wood Craft by our house. The design is simple due to the space restriction in my room but for about 120 bucks in material and the time spent with my Dad, no product on the market could sway me otherwise.

Well as soon as you hit 10 post here you'll be able to start dropping the pictures of your studio in progress.
