I'm looking for a mic/mic pair to record sax and flute (but not at the same time) for under $100, less being better. I just visited my local Guitar Center, where the salesman recommended the MXL 990/991, which they sell together for $100, and he said one (the 990?) would work better with sax, and the other with flute. Would this be a good way to go for my price range? Are there any other pairs (again, not exceeding $100 for the pair) that would work better, or is there perhaps a single mic that would meet my needs for both instruments? Thanks.
