!980-82? Fender Lead I value?

Gentleman, I summon your expertise on a price check on this guitar. The serial number is E114464 and im interested in what its worth. Its american made and this kid is trying to get rid of it for $300. There is a little cosmetic damage to the finish, but nothing major. Still sounds good. Worth it?

Compare it to a guitar of similar price point - if you like it as much or better - snag it. If not - get something else! If you really dig the way it plays/looks/sounds, then $300 isn't that much.

I bought an E series(i think it's E, its not with me) fender strat made in japan. To this day, its the best strat i've ever played. I paid 550 for it.

I remember thinking that the Lead 1 was a sweet guitar. That was a long time ago.
