multi voice chorus:

I'm looking for a 8 or more voices chorus or rack unit i have seen them i forgot which ones rack unit it was

The one i seen had 8 different panning so each voice had each a panning

and 8 different LFO's and can put the LFO's phase quaduture phasing outputs

I'm mostly use it was a digitech but i forgot the model or rack unit and no its not the new digitech 16 voice pedal
it doesn't have 8 panning or 8 LFO plus its phase to offset

just get 8 singers and put them in 16th century racks, beat them with whips in time to the music, and , viola` problem solved!

I think its the digitech quad 4 that has it check it out sonic its a really cool 8 voice chorus with 8 LFO's with phase and 8 panning for each voices for post production

You'd need two of those for eight independent choruses though, wouldn't you? Each Quad4 has 4 independent inputs and outputs.

Each Quad4 has 4 independent inputs and outputs

Yes sonic but if u have panning to different pan ratios it makes 4 outputs into 8 because of the panning positions are isolated and not bleeding the panning help out to make 8 voices with only 4 outputs sound like 8 outputs but yes u would have to buy 2 of them to discrete 8 voice chorusing

If u have only 2 outputs if u pan 8 voices inside the box it will turn the 2 outputs into 8 outputs because your using the "panning as channels"

It'll take a miracle...

I think I understand. Can you rephrase your answer, or question, whatever that was?

Panning as channels:

If your rack mount only has only 2 or 4 outputs inside the rack unit u can adjust the panning per effects box like a
8 voice multi chorus has 8 voices with 8 panning parameters but there is only 2 output jacks or 4 output jacks how are u
going to get those 8 voices out of 2 outputs jacks. If u pan inside the rack unit its creates a "pseudo" 8 outputs because the
panning positions are acting like channels or tracks

1.) chorus voice#1 panned at 8 clock
2.) chorus voice#2 panned at 3 clock
3.) chorus voice#3 panned at 10 clock
4.) chorus voice#4 panned at 5 clock
5.) chorus voice#5 panned at 2 clock
6.) chorus voice#6 panned at 6 clock
7.) chorus voice#7 panned at 9 clock
8.) chorus voice#8 panned at 12 clock

If your portable live record only has 2 two tracks because its small and portable to record a live band how can u get seperate
tracks? Put all the mics in a mixing board and adjust the panning knobs parameter like this

1.) guitar at 10 o clock
2.) bass at 2 o clock
3.) keyboards in stereo at 9 o clock and 3 o clock
4.) your vocals in stereo at 11 o clock and 1 o clock
5.) drums in the center at 12 o clock

See how the panning positions created more tracks/channels superimposed ontop of two tracks

Or u can do this set the mixing board like this before the 2 track recorder

1.) guitar at 7 o clock
2.) bass at 7 o clock
3.) keyboards in stereo at 7 o clock and 7 o clock
**4.) your vocals in stereo at *5* o clock and 5 o clock
5.) drums in the center at 7 o clock

This puts all your live band background mics and instruments on the Right channel and the Vocals on the Left channel
by using panning

Threshold panning:

Pan rotation values

Lets say u want your guitar at 10 o clock and your bass at 2 o clock , keyboards in stereo at 9 o clock and 3 o clock
your vocals in stereo at 11 o clock and 1 o clock and the drums in the center at 12 o clock

All these panning positions are going to bleed into one another to isolate them more u need a threshold panning rotation gates so when the threshold is above a panning rotation is turns ON but when its below a panning rotation it turns OFF
so they don't bleed into one another keep them more discrete

example:

Threshold panning position is "above" 2 o clock or "below" 2 o clock it will shut off the bass
Threshold panning position is "above" 10 o clock or "below" 10 o clock it will shut off the guitar
Threshold panning position range of is "above" 11 o clock or "below" 1 o clock it will shut off the vocals
Threshold panning position range of is "above" 9 o clock or "below" 3 o clock it will shut off the keyboards

Its a Either OR gate controlling the panning positions per track. Trying to "block" the adjacent sides or adjacent tracks
next to it.

Synthesis panning or encoding panning multiplexing to block and isolate each panning position from another so each tracks
panning doesn't bleeding into each other its discrete isolated like a recording booth

I'm starting to understand. Still not quite there though.

walters you are so full of shit. :D funny though.

audio can't be isolated to a specific point or range in the stereo field.

I see what you are saying about panning the chorus effects to different areas of the soundstage to make them seem independent.

Do you want to apply 8 different chorus fx to eight different audio tracks? Or do you want to apply 8 different chorus fx to 4 audio tracks, or two audio tracks?

Just a single track mono track and the mono track has 8 voices of chorus
or u can put it on the mixdown 2 track to apply 8 voices of chorus with panning makes it sound alittle watery

My Roland Jazz chorus amp have a stereo input make both sides dry and put the 8 voices chorus with panning into it , it mixes acoustically in the air

Sure it can. Panning, EQ, multi-band compression, gating.

I can think of lot's of ways to isolate any given sound. Eventide has stereo FX that can make a source sound like it's behind you or above you in a stereo field.

What the name of this please?

I think it's called the Ford Falcon.
