788 question

regarding a 788 unit, can you record with an effect, say reverb, coming thru the monitor and not going to the recording? Example: singer wanting to hear reverb when tracking. And then adding effects at mix time.

I don't record with effects but I'm pretty sure it records dry and the effects don't apply at that phase unless you're bouncing tracks with effects.

hmmmm, actually my experience has been that if I'm using effects at the time of recording, they do print.. I usually just use a little bit, and then pile it on later..

I'm sure I'm not using it correctly though..

In the effects window look in the upper left corner, there you'll see the default 'PST' or you can option 'PRE' or 'OFF'. If you set it to 'PRE' it'll print the effect when you record.
