7 string guitar

I bought a seven string guitar today. Not that I know how to play it but because it was an incredible deal for a beautiful guitar.The extra sting is B below low E. Any helpful hints?

Before you dump this axe, ask yourself if it's worth more than you paid for it and go there.

If not, go buy some George Van Eps CDs and get an idea of what the pros do with the extra string.

Well it was pretty awesome and was original
but your first concern is what stopped me.
I've seen what can be done and I can't do it so I chickened out.

Yeah, the guitar is worth more than I paid for it. And although that extra string is sometimes there like a sore thumb, the guitar is beautifully crafted, so I won't return it.

Like tdukex said, I can always go the open tuning, Celtic, slide route.

Also check out Ron Eschete and Howard Alden. Both great players, both use 7 strings.

It's definately a specialist instrument, but if you're a chord melody guy, you'll love it.
