Hello well I'm a newbie at recording and I'm on a tight budget situation so i Was hoping to save for some beginner drum mics and i cant decide wich one is better, the cad pro o the premium. Can you Help me decide? Thanxs

What is your budget? You might consider buying 3 really good mics ala Glyn Johns rather than 7 cheap ones.

Go for the premium set since it includes the KBM412 and TSM411 mics both of which are excellent mics for live and recording.

my budget is around 100 to 200 because I have to also buy a audio interface and I was thinking in Tascam 1800 around 300 bucks so my total budget is like 600. why it would be better to buy 3 over 7? I mean, I know the Glyn Jhons are high-end mics but it will cover the same audio range as 7 low-end mics? if so, then I would prefer to buy the 3 mics. how much do they cost?
thanxs for your answer I was doubting because the cad pro costs 200 with a case and the premium without the case 170, I thought those extra 30 bucks where because the case putting them in the same price range.

I've used the Cad Pro set for years with what I think are good enough results. If your drums sound good, they will capture them adequately. The SDC overhead mics are iffy, but the rest are good enough. You can hear them in the links in my sig.

Edit - I use an SM57 on my snare. The rest are the CAD set.

I was speaking about the Johns method of using only 3 mics to record a kit. He doesn't market his own mics.
