Hi - Pretty simple question.

I'm thinking about buying the 6505+ Head amp for direct recording via impulses - I don't have the options to play live or record with cab+mic.

I already got the 6505+ 112 Amp, but not completely satisfied.

Would I be better off with something completely different or should I just buy the 6505+ Head and be done with it.

I can get it for 1k euro, which is a lot of cash Imo - So is it worth it?

I'm going to use a koch Loadbox, and then run it through my DAW with some impulses.
I really like the tone I got out of it just right off, at the music store, but what about direct recording?
Am I on the right track, or is this a complete overkill?

Kind regards - Christian

If you like it the way it is, I don't see why you wouldn't like it in your recordings.

Ye - But that was my ears at a music shop - I know a mic+cab would sound quite good with right acoustics, but now this is direct in + impulses.. I don't know what rules apply there in matter of sound quality, compared to the 6505+ 112

Most people can't tell the difference. Especially if it's an impulse of the mic and cab in the mic position you would usually use. Impulses are very accurate. It just may be hard to find the one you want to use.

I'd take the mic and cab myself if money was no problem. More flexibility to change things around if it's not quite right. But either way is possible to get a great sound.
