$6,000....I really need help.

Sold off all my old stuff, just wasnt good enough.

I've got $6,000 exactly to work with.

I need a soundcard, monitors, and a pre-amp.

Suggestions?
 
How many channels do you need?

Do you already the software right?

Do you want a controller or just use the mouse?

Are you trying to stay away from the Pro Tools systems?

Adams monitors $1,300.00

Grace 801 pre $4,400.00

Motu 240 2408CoreMk3 $950.00

That's a little high but one hell of a system and cables can be pricey. With the motu you really can expand too.

That might give you a good idea on what to check out.

Where do you see ADAM monitors for $1300???????????

Their basic P11 is $1875/pair!!!
 
OOPS! Sorry about that....Didn't notice that was $1,300 EACH!!!

Maybe some KRK V8"s then. Their in that thousand dollar range for the pair.
 
I already have software, really don't wanna use Pro Tools, I will only be recording one artist at a time.

Ill be using the mouse.
 
Do you need any external dynamics/effects or just whats in your software?

If you're recording only one at a time then I'm not sure if you really even need 8 channels of i/o on the sound card.

Maybe look into getting some diffrent kinds of pre's for diffrent things instead on 8 of one kind.

A Grace 101, RNP, Great River...get a nice selection and see what works best with each insturment.

I've been looking at the Grace 201, its about $1,700 and maybe putting that with the Lynx Two-B which is about $900, and going with a Blue Sky 2.1 system.
