Is a 5400 rpm drive ok for applications? I was thinking about buying another drive to get rid of my old 5400 drive. I have a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 for audio. Would it be worth it to upgrade to a 7200 rpm drive for applications and where would I notice the biggest improvements?

Thanks

5400 is fine for apps.....i have a 5400 on my recording computer and it works fine....apps depend on ram, not disk speed.....

I kinda thought it would be fine. It's hard to resist the urge to always have the biggest and best gear and just stick with what works (even if it is old).

That's the spirit. Don't take that gear lust too far.
