I like my recordings.
ok.
everybody knows that zoom maybe does not have an EXELLENT quallity but it works very good for what I need, and the most important thing, I can buy their products.

the deal here is that we already talk about the 505, most people dont like it, and the 506, much better unit for bass.

somebody wrote:
"THEY CAN´T BE GOOD, THEY ARE SO SMALL UNITS TO PUT 24 EFECTS IN THEM; IT HAS TO BE A LITTLE IMPOTENT PROCESOR."

well, they are for $60 dlls in zZound. AND......:
for $80 you can get the new one, with 33 effects now, not 24, they are the 505II and the 506II.

so, they are still put them MORE effects, in the little unit
(now, I like it more).

I already sold the 505 and the 506, and I WILL buy the new ones, the second part of them, but before I do that I want to hear your opinions, you know that the second parts in movies never are good exept for someones like STARWARS!!!

any opinions?

"...you get for what you paid"
I KNOW THAT!!!

I hope this unit works just fine.

you know what? this unit will work better then POD. :p
just kidding.

also...

I think is important to say that in the price list, the new ones, with 33 efects are $15 cheaper then the old ones with 24 efects...

I use a 505 often when playing shows. I really dislike pedalboards and lugging even more stuff around, and I can generally get all the sounds I want out of this cool little unit by programming the settings myself.
BUT- I have found that when I try to record with the thing it's just way too noisy. You can hear the effect through air and, at least for my reaordings, that's just too much of a pain. I still bring out all the different effect pedals and rack units when I'm recording it.

Zoom 505 = a wonderful way to increase my laziness.

umm... i've heard some REALLY bad reviews of the mkII's from users who liked/used the original.. i personally don't own or use any of them (the only real experience i have is an ex band mate who played through one... and that was a few months ago at least), so take my comments for what they are worth, but i highly suggest checking some reviews out before you buy

Que Pasa Proveras! I just bought the 505 for 49.00 at Manny's Music. I'm gonna give a try when I get home tonite!
But really, for 49.00, you can't really go wrong!

yee, I know that,
but wait a minute, the unit is cheaper then the ac adaptor and the exprecion pedal. :D

why you don't you get the 505II for a few more bucs???

well, I want these units (guitar and bass ones) to conect them to the J-STATION.

let see what happen. :confused:

My old 505 served me for years. I never liked its distortions, but I thought choruses (chorusi?), 'verbs, delays, etc. were acceptable for live guitar. Then later I even recorded my snare drum through it, cuz it has compression+chorus+reverb and it sounded nice! (I'm a home-"studio" hobbyist, if you're not, why are you even reading about 505?) I think the delays, reverbs and modulations in it can be used widely, not just on guitars. When they cost $99, I thought they were a bit too much, but now, for $50 - it's considerable.

Oh, regarding the size, isn't it just a computer chip anyway?

I tried it out last nite and though the distotion sounded a little canned and artificial,I too found the chorus and 'verbs pretty cool! I even gave a little credit to the auto-wah function, sounded like a baby vox!

Proveras,I wouldn't advise plugging the 505 into a POD as their is a noticeble noise factor when hooked up and IMHO slightly distorts the the POD's amp modes.

Yes, my 505 was noisy, too. If you have a POD or a J-station, why isn't your 505 not on ebay yet? :0)

get it. thanks MR Q.

Ok.
Zoom is noisy for rec...

I think that The J-Station will be enough, I hope so.
in the thread about "what goes well with POD" are a few ideas...

My head is gonna BLOWOUT! man, so many option, so many prices...

with the money that you can buy a J-Station, and rec direct,
you can buy the zoom 503, 505II, 506II with an expresion pedal, and mic an amp with diferent technics and try some tricks in the mixer with 2 or 3 mics...

WICH ONE IS THE BEST WAY?!?!?!?

keep it simple, with good quality, J-Station for rec bass and guitars... thats my easy answer.

use the zoom for "poor mans" live sound...

does the J-Station works well conected to an amp???
