Hello all ... I've been having some strange difficulty with getting my asio driver to initialize properly in Cubase 5.0 using a MOTU 2408mkII, and of course tech support at motu is nonexistent.
I'm a Win 98se user, on a PIII 600 computer, 384 Mgs of Ram, running 2 Maxtor 30G Drives on an ATA100 controller card.
The problem rears it's head when I start Cubase. I get an error message that I/O channels 1 & 2 are unavailable and in use by another application - probably the Wave driver. I have tried re-installing the Motu software without the Wave driver, and only the Asio driver, but of course, I get no sound at all when I try this...
Is anyone else experiencing a similar occurrence? If you can give me ANY advice, I'd truly appreciate it....

Here's an update to my dilemma - I CAN run Cubase with the Asio driver as the ONLY driver installed in my computer via the MOTU2408mkII. I uninstalled all of my audio drivers, and did a "custom" install of the MOTU hardware. Meaning - NO WAVE DRIVER !!
Unfortunately - I cannot run any other audio software now. No external editor(Wavelab), no loops (ACID 3.0) ....so I was correct in my assumption that asio drivers, and wave drivers , as configured by MOTU, for the 2408mkII, are incompatible in MY computer. If anyone has any ideas -feel free to share!!!
