"dithering" ?? - 44,,,,,48,,,,96 Part 2
Ok, thanks for everyone responding to the last post. There was a bunch of great information. But after reading this all, it leads me to another question??
You state that you can record at higher sampling rates (even though its not really needed for audio CD) then "Dither" it down to 44K for CD recording. Well I go from an HD24 into a Masterlink, for the CD recording and the HD24 (as stated before) defaults recording to 48K when setting up a new song. From here on out, I will just change the set up to 44K but how do I change or "dither" the current stuff I have recorded from 48K down to 44K? I have about 7 tunes at 48K that I really dont want to have to re-record them.
How does one transpose recorded material from a higher recorded sampling rate down to 44K for the CD burning (or will/can the Masterlink automatically do that for me?).
I'd refer to the manual, but its out at the Studio, so thought I'd just ask for now.
You people are a wealth of great information!!!
Thanks again and Peace
