I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I've on my 424 for about a year now and it works great with the exception of one problem, it seems as though the power supply plug and the rca plugs (line out, monitor out) are not making the necessary connections and I have to fiddle with them just to get them to work. The power supply seems to cause the most problems, it is getting progressively harder to make the connection and the slightest movement of my 424 causes it to come lose, shutting off the 4 track. Does anyone know of any ways to repair this, is it even able to be repaired?

Thanks,
Mike

I have the same problem with the RCA Line Outs...

and I am petrified at opening and performing surgery. Luckily I can use the 424 mkIII for recording, and use my 464 for mixdown. But I have the soldering iron (no temp setting) and have proven myself proficient at melting circuit boards beyond recognition. (do they have to look the same when you're done?)

But alas, you can't be a real recordist without some horror stories to tell, now, can you?

Wish me luck, I'm goin' in!

I hope the Anesthetist is standing by, Smidge! :D

Good luck with the fix! :)
