Hey guys,
Just wondering if I'm the only one who has troubles with the auto-punch on my MKII. About 1 out of 3 times, I'll get a noticeable POP on the track that's being punched. I've been mixing down to the computer and fixing it digitally, but it's really a pain. Anything I can do to reduce the popping problem? Would de-gaussing the heads help?
I've had this machine for years and I'm still learning more cool tricks every day. Getting rid of the pop would make me a happy guy.

laaronx,

Are you using a punch-in pedal or using the controls for punch-in?

I had the same problem with this popping noise on my MK III.
I was able to reduce it significantly by cleaning the 1/4" jack that plugs in the machine. And making certain that DBX is on at all times.

Do you keep the punch-in pedal connected at all times?
It might be a good idea to keep it plugged in whenever possible to prevent dirt from accumulating inside.
