I'm not in the Drums Recording field yet ( wich i know requires a good microphone kit ). So let's skip this.

Let's skip the BASS too and the guitar amps. ( This responsability belongs to the guitar player )

And... let's skip a good pair of Monitors, cause 400$ is not enought. :D

I'm still thinking about a better processor, but maybe any thing else, could be more important than that right now, so i don't know, you tell me.

I'm just recording basic demos, not still with professional quality, and i know i still need lots of stuffs, but i really want to throw those 400$ in something that i'm really missing in the list, and that's what you're going to tell me. :D

thanks.

acoustic treatment for your walls.

Wish that had been my first buy years ago, that way I could have heard how bad some of the equipment was I purchased and held on to.

that's a treatment that i want to do since a long time ago, cause i got to say that my recording conditions sucks.

but unfortunely, i don't have any oxygen source, and i got to leave the window open to receive some air. it sucks. You can hear my mom yelling in almost every recording i have, :D.

So you are planning on doing a hybrid setup for mixing, right? - i.e. outboard and on the computer. If so, I've noticed you didn't mention any software, plugins, etc. - need to get that, I'd assume. What about headphones? Those are pretty essential. Other than that, I'd probably save my money and do what I'm sure others will tell you here - put the time into learning and get better with your equipment you have before thinking you have to have that piece of gear. Then when you've mastered what you have and maximized the sound quality out of it, consider getting something else.

You can get a pair of Wharefdale 802 actives for around $300. They do a great job for the price

soft = intangible ( i don't feel bad at all, if i'm not making any money )

so, i guess you why i don't metiont it. :D
