4 track question.

just a quick question. we have a new small 4 track at practice to get ideas down here and there. I have a problem. When I push the record button the the live line-in is blaring over the other tracks that are playing. Why does this happen?

It kinda depends on exactly which 4-track, but...

if it's the Porta 02mkII, I read in the manual that this is basically normal. I have not had a chance to mess with my (new) Porta 02mkII, but make sure the Level knob for the target track is turned down to "0". I believe it's roughly the same issue on the MF-P01, by similar design.

When I've had a chance to play with my Porta 02mkII and MF-P01, (both recent acquisitions), I pop in with a more definitive answer.
