does anybody know of any 4 pre audio interfaces, like dual inputs... I was thinking like 4 pres for like at least 2 condensers on a drum set + at least kick and snare,

That's what I have and I love it. It has 4 mic pre's and you can expand it with more as it has 6 line level inputs.

I have a Fireface 800 as well, but they're on the top off the foodchain for firewire interfaces, pricewise as well. The MOTU 8Pre is the best price/performance choice at midrange price level. (You can buy 3 8Pres for the cost of a Fireface800)

yeah I heard the firefaces we're really expensive. I'll check out the motu 8 pre.
