4-in-1 multi card slot support express card for Firewire interface?

Hey guys,

This is my first post, and I am excited to have found this website for all of my future endeavors.

I was recently reading this (google search: How to Buy a Laptop Computer for Audio Recording - wikiHow) short article while looking for a laptop to record with when my birthday came along and my mother was sweet enough to get me a new laptop.

I think this new laptop is strong enough for audio recording, but there is only a 4-in-1 SD multi card slot as opposed to an expresscard slot for my firewire interface.

My question is, what is a multi card slot, and can I plug an express card into it or get an adapter? Second, would the adapter interfere with the quality?

SD is Secure Digital (like the cards in cameras) and likely will not handle expresscards.

It's easier if you give the exact model when you have a hardware question so that people can look up the specs and tell you properly...
