Hi, I am new to home recording. Right now I've got only a small bedroom that can be temporarily changed to a studio for our recording project. My question is do you think that I will be able to record drums with that room? neighbour is not a problem for me, I am just afraid that it will produce to much echo. Does placing bass traps in corners will help? As much as I can, I am willing to spend some money to be able to record acoustic drums in that room, but I can't spend more than $1000 for that. If I can't, then I will record by sending MIDI from my e.drums, but still that's a second option.

Any thoughts? Thanks

That is a tiny room. 13 cubic meters. You also have 2 dimensions that are the same which will result in double power standing waves beginning at 82Hz.

You would probably need more trapping than you want, however, it can be done. - If you don't mind working in a 'dead' room. I would recommend trapping in as many corners as you can. Absorption panels on the ceiling over the kit are required as well as checker boarded on the walls.

Cheers,
John

Thanks,

I decided not to use acoustic drum. It's way too loud and the amount of room treatment that I have to do is too much hassle for me.
