A Reel Person

It's Too Funky in Here!!!
as follows:
...
I'm a home project guy, usually pretty adept and successful working with these machines. I've owned 4 and have worked on them for myself and my friends. A while ago, I was adjusting Reel/Servo adjustments none too successfully, (I think one adjustment pot is defective), when suddenly due to a servo or motor overload or surge internally, something blew. I also may have been working with sticky tape that caused undue drag on the servos. I checked and changed a couple fuses. Afterward, the LED display has a definite flicker, Reel/Servo operation is not consistent, and logic transport control control is not always consistent. I believe I blew one side of a dc rectifier bridge, but I've never seen any problem like this. I have the manual and some test eqpt and tools, but I'm hesitent to dig in beyond the basic checks. Any advice? Thanx.

I've heard Tascam email support is not very responsive.
Due to budgetary issues I'm hesitant to take it in for factory repair.
Any of you super techy guys care to comment?
Thx
:spank::eek:;)
