I was wondering if anybody could tell me what effects are on Nick Hexum's voice when he sings the chorus of 311's down? Also, what type of distortion could they possibly be using on guitars ?

Definately chorus, lots and lots of chorus. He uses lots delay and reverb as well.
Nick uses the stock distortion on his Rivera amp with his guitar on the bridge pickup. here's the amp http://www.rivera.com/bh_gsrvw1.htm
