3 New songs, killer solo on one. Help me with mixing.

Hey guys, its been a long while since I posted some of my tunes on here.

I have been working obsessively on finishing two of my own CDs, and working on countless other projects. I probably have over 2000 hours in these sessions over the past couple years. I have been recording myself at home as well as recording project bands I play in and helping a few friends record their CDs at my studio as well. My best friends CD is only a few months away now. I'll give you link to that Myspace too if anyone is interested.

I haven't updated my website in years, but my Myspace music has three new songs up. The first three are about 98% finished. The music is mainly acoustic/rock with electric guitars scattered here and there. If there's only one thing you listen to I worked extra hard on the outro solo on Break Of Dawn, you might want to check that out.

These mixes were made especially for internet delivery.

I'm looking for comments on overall sound quality and mixing. I'm pretty well set on my performances and songwriting.

I play on everything you hear with the exception of one background vocal and the piano on Across the Sands.

Break of Dawn

Interesting song.

I'm not sure what to make of the contrast between the acoustic and the distorted guitar without a rhythm section. I guess I like it.

The vocals are a little out of pitch occasionally, but in a semi-acceptable "offspring" kind of way. You could clean them up a bit.

The solo didn't really blow my mind or anything, but is well-placed. This would be a good song for a long fade.

Yeah it could use drums

I've been putting that off. I was hoping to use it without going through the trouble of trying to track drums retroactively. I have a really hard time doing that. Maybe I'll give it a go next time I work on that tune. The vocals I was going to try and envelope down the weak spots where needed, it's mostly the two backing vocal tracks that occasionally wander. Thanks for the review. I still think the solo kicks ass, just sayin! Then again, I'm biased.
