Hey everyone,

Does anyone use a 3/4 scale acoustic guitar for recording???

The only acoustic guitar I have is a Martin lxm (little martin travel guitar)
and the intonation and balance is surprisingly good, good enough that I have been considering dumping my plans to buy a full size guitar and save some money...if I can make this baby sound/record like a full size.

I am thinking of installing a Fishman pickup system in it. That way I could record direct and with a mic at the same time. Or maybe just use two mics (which I already have) and forget the pickup system. There is an electric version of this guitar and some say it sounds "full sized" when plugged in.

What do you think? And if installing a pickup is a must, which one do you recommend for a 3/4 scale guitar? (The lxme uses a Fishman mini Q electronics.)

Thanks a bunch, cbsc

I had one eons ago when I was 10 years old and just learning.

You'll never get the acoustic sound of a full-size dreadnaught out of that thing, but depending on what pickup you use you might get a decent "acoustic-electric" type sound out of it.
