I designed/constructed these myself for my studio, but ended up with more than I needed. They work VERY well at first reflections. Check them out if you're interested!!!

wowzer.

let me know if you get that much for these...

i just made 40 of these...and if they cost me even half as much as that each...i'd probably have shat my pants

I guess i'm just looking at it as what i feel they're worth, rather than the cost to make them. Granted they're fairly cheap & easy to construct, but i figured some ppl just don't have the time or desire to do it themselves, & it seems like a fair price to pay for "ready to hang" 4" panels. So far no hits but we'll see what happens!!

ahhaha.. dude you realize april fools day auctions should be held in april right?

Granted they're fairly cheap & easy to construct

and your still willing to rip people off........

i recently made 18 of these the very same as yours i used felt which was the most expensive part i think i got 20 or 22 meters at a cost of 12.50euro per
meter and covered them all over.. all in they cost 500 to 600 euro

your selling these at $125 thats roughly 90euro if i was to sell all of these off at the price your are thats 1620euro
or if i sold 4 at your price i would have over half my cost covered

your a complete cowboy, i hope nobody falls for it

I was interested until I saw the price. :D They DO look nice, but way overpriced. And I would have used OC 703 rigid insulation panels instead of rockwool. ;) But Rock works ok also. ;)

Good luck,,,,, and if some of you guys who have built several of these panels, and want to sell a couple at a reasonable price,,,look me up. Saves me the time and energy of making them, as I am currently too busy building the new studio, but will need some soon.

Thanks
AJ

Ummm... Hey Raven & others ....

I'm not trying to rip anybody off. Please explain to me how $125 for a 2'x4'x4" Rockwool panel, framed, covered & ready to hang is a "rip-off". Yes, the materials to make these are cheap, but cost isn't the ONLY factor. Doesn't time & labor count for anything? I understand that $125 may seem a little high for anyone who has built their own, but I don't think it's SO unreasonable a price for someone who wants a professional panel but doesn't have the time or desire to go get the materials, cut the wood & fabric, and put them together. So i thought MAYBE someone who was shopping the commercial products might want to save some money. Is it a "rip-off" if someone spends $125 instead of $300 for something that performs similarly? I don't understand the need for the negative responses in the "Ads for music/recording equipment" section of the forum. It seems to me that the only required responses to this post in this particular section should be from anyone who might have a question about the panels. I'm obviously not trying to sell these to those of you who BUILD YOUR OWN panels! I have no problem with anyone's opinion, but you don't have to be ignorant about it. If i don't sell them at that price, then i'll try lowering it.

Hey "NewAtThis"

I totally respect the fact that you told me your opinion about the price WITHOUT being ignorant about it. I would GLADLY work something out with you if you're interested.

PEACE!!!!

my frames at the most cost me 600euro, each they cost me under 35euro and come on how hard was it to put em together it took me a couple of hours i had a laugh and few beers while doing it

it would be wrong if people felt that you or anybody else were over pricing and said nothing, if that make me ignnorant well so be it

mabey your workmanship is that good or your in a really well paid job that you think your time is worth that much but your panels although you compare them to a $300 product are not a $300 product nor are they a $125 product, will you be giving a guarantee

they are your panels charge what you like but i think you are over pricing and why should'nt i say so, seems like you just wanna sell to a person that dose'nt know what they are buying

come on how hard was it to put em together it took me a couple of hours i had a laugh and few beers while doing it

It wasn't hard... but that was ME. And obviously you too. But not everybody wants to or is able to build acoustic panels.

it would be wrong if people felt that you or anybody else were over pricing and said nothing, if that make me ignnorant well so be it

I guess u responded to my last post without reading it through. I clearly said that I have NO problem with ppls opinions about my price. What makes u ignorant is that u made the statement "you're willing to rip people off". Just because that happens to be your opinion DOESN'T make it a true statement. I'm NOT out to rip anybody off and you STILL haven't explained to me how $125 for a 2'x4'x4" Rockwool panel, framed, covered & ready to hang is a "rip-off". No matter how cheap the materials are or how much time it takes to make them, Is it SUCH a bad deal for someone who is NOT a do-it-yourselfer & wants to get them pre-made?

mabey your workmanship is that good or your in a really well paid job that you think your time is worth that much but your panels although you compare them to a $300 product are not a $300 product nor are they a $125 product, will you be giving a guarantee

I only compared them to a $300 product in PERFORMANCE. They may not be as pretty or refined, but they do the same thing and they work. For some ppl, that's enough and maybe they just wanna save a little money. Saying they're not a $125 product is your OPINION man. Why is a pre-built/covered/ready to hang 4" Rockwool panel NOT worth $125 if it does what it's supposed to do? And i would have no problem giving a guarantee.

seems like you just wanna sell to a person that dose'nt know what they are buying

It's actually the exact OPPOSITE. If u looked at my ebay listing, u would see that I suggested to anyone who doesn't know about these types of absorbers to do a google search on "acoustic panels" or "studio acoustics". I WANTED ppl to know EXACTLY what they are & what they do. I'm not the shady person you're making me out to be. JEEEEEEEEZ.

I guess the mistake i made was posting in HERE. Most of you ARE do-it-yourselfers, so i guess i should have expected a reaction like this. But after i researched and learned all i could about acoustics/room control, had i not decided to build my own panels, I definitely would've considered buying panels like this for $125. Like most of us, i'm on a tight budget. It's a BIG difference over the cost of commercial panels, especially when you need more than one. But if nobody buys them at this price after a reasonable time period, i guess i WILL be the only one who thought it was a fair price!

First off...Webb,,thanks for the great links. ;) I know its cheap to make these panels, but until I get the materials and get around to it, its just as cheap and easier to maybe buy them already made. :)

Next,,,,the love of typing remarks and opinions on the internet. No one knows for sure if your joking, breaking balls, serious or what. Anyway, although I agreed that these panels are priced high, it seems to me that Mind Bender made them, (and they look like they turned out good) but he wasnt that aware of what was offered out there and at what price. To him, he probably thought these panels were worth this type of money. After all, what IS out there in the Studio world thats cheap to buy these days>?>?:D :D

Anyway, he may have overpriced them unknowingly, but thats no reason to rip into his ass too bad. Again, maybe to him he thought it was a fair price. And if he does sell them on Ebay for 125.00 each,,,more power to him.

If I am not interested in them, I'll just go to one of the other sites and buy what I need and ignore his post or ebay auction.

I dont think any harm was intended by anyone with this post (offer), but as internet text has it, it got turned into a shit match. (probably off an innocent misunderstanding or lack of knowledge on his part) ;) Also the fact that he does not have many posts, and his first posts are reference selling something on here. That always goes over for some, like a fart in church. :D

Who knows,,,,maybe he will drop the price to an affordable price now, and they will get sold. In th emeantime, do we really need to go back and forth about it??

Peace
AJ

Brilliant!!! You have used the same design(frame behind) as i am planning, and it works :D. Did you try it without the 6x1 wood at the bottom? Is this needed to hold the insulation in place?

Hey AJ...

THANK YOU!!! That is exactly what happened. I hadn't seen those GIK & ATS panels. All the ones i saw were MUCH higher. It would have been cool for ppl to just point that out to me without ASSUMING i came on here to rip someone off. Now that i know about that, i will either lower the price or just not sell them.

Others...

Having said that, i STILL think it's unfair to call it a "rip-off". I WILL agree that they're overpriced compared to the GIK & ATS. But keep in mind that they have 3 sides open for more absorption area AND a built-in 1.5" airspace. If someone knew exactly what they were buying, and that product performs the way it's supposed to, then I wouldn't say they got ripped off. But anyway like I said I will reconsider what to do with them now.

Pandamonk...

Yes, the insulation is resting on the 1x6, and the fabric keeps the sheets secured in place. This eliminates the need for adhesive, but restricts it to a vertical mount panel only. I used L-brackets to make the frame and it's very strong. I have 6 of them hangin in my control room.
