It's good info, but it's not correct.
I can cut $3000 off by building my own PC. You can build a dual core 3.2 Ghz with over 2 gigs of RAM, and a terrabyte of storage for under $2000.
You can also cut the "Hip-Hop essentials" category all together, and go with PC based production. That cuts an additional $4000.
Cut out Pro Tools, and the digi design. Go with Adobe Audition. Scratch the UAD and get an Echo Mia MIDI. So that saves an additional $3500.
All the other stuff is matter of opinion, and doesn't have much of an impact on quality etc... Like the "Producers Desk" or whatever..lol..
So you can build the same quality studio he's talking about, for under $15,000 and if you don't care for outboard gear at all, and go with software for everything... you can do it for under $10,000.
It's all subjective, fam.

Ya, you can cut a lot off that price if you know computers and how to build. Also, find deals. Get used and refurbish it. There's a lot of ways....
