I'm looking to upgrade my At2020 vocal mic to something a little better. I primarily record screaming vocals so I need it to be good on doing that but I'd also like it to be good for "pop" singing as well.

I hear a lot about the NT1A+ the C1 and all are good, and my vote is more towards the NT1A but i want your votes and opinions PLEASE!!

Rode NT1A
Studio projects C1
AKG Perception 200

Rode is an awesome company with a great level of quality over the cost.

I wouldn't recommend the Rode NT-1a or Studio Projects C1 for screaming vocals. They both have quite an exaggerated top end that could sound very harsh for that style!

The SM7 would be a much better choice!

A SM7 or RE20 would be a much better choice but a bit more than $250.

A good choice for a $250 LDC is an M-Audio Solaris. I've liked the stuff I've done with mine.
