The reason the replies in this thread seem so incongruous, is your talking essentially about 2 different things (bands). Chicago was more or less a "POP" band by the late 70's, but Chicago Transit Authority (25 or 6 to 4) kicked ass! Their first 2 albums at least were excellent by the standards of the day, and still sound good to me now, even when I'm not tripping. (Too old for acid)
