Hi
I am new to recording and I have a question:

I 've got a 24/96 audio card and Cubase Sx program.

What will I earn if I write my audio tracks at 24/96KHz resolution, and my final mixing will be transferred at 16/44.1Khz (just for my audio CD)?
I put this question because I think it's useless to record some thing at a higher resolution and then to tranform it to a lower one..... or it isn't?

Any reply would help me a lot!

Thanks!

Hey danaos:)

It's not useless, you still can end up with a better product even though you have to convert it later. You should do a search of the bbs on this subject. It has been covered many times so I'm sure you will find alot of info. I can tell you that you have a better dynamic range with 24/96. It also holds up better to processing (effects etc.). There's way more to it but you will see it when you do the search.

Good Luck

F.S.
