2488 vs BR-1600 vs AW16G

Hi All,

I new to recording full stop and wondered if someone could offer some advice on the following digital recorders, Boss BR-1600, TASCAM 2488, and Yamaha AW16G. Has anyone got experience with more than one of the mentioned models and offer me some advice on pro's and con's of the models. I've been wading through all the resources on the web but it starting to get a little to much. thanks

At the moment I like the 2488 due to 24 tracks, the BR-1600 due to Drum and Bass samples etc and the effects, and the AW16G as Yamaha make very good quality equipment (but it only has 2 x XLR's and no USB).
 
I would rule out the Boss. I owned a Roland recorder(model slipped my mind) and it was not up to par. Roland and Boss are similiar as they are the same build just a different flavor. Owned by the same company.

I would narrow it down to the Yami and the 2488. I am looking at getting rid of my Tascam 788 for one of these and these are the leaders in the race.
