I have 3 computers in my place and my dad has a 24-bit soundcard, though I don't use that computer to record. But anyway, if I do happen to record on there in 24-bit (32 whatever) when I save it, it forces me to turn it into a 16-bit file. So when it's opened again it's just a 16-bit. Help? Thanks.

I'm not following you here. If you don't use your Dad's computer to record, then why does it matter what it does?

I'm just curious, I did try a recording on there once and I couldn't save it 24-bit. I plan to get rid of this Soundblaster piece of crap eventually, so for my own information.

What's the soundcard in your Dad's machine? Have you looked at the settings for it?

I believe it is a Creative Audigy 2 something or other...

But generally should Cool Edit be able to save 24-bit tracks?

Nevermind, I changed some settings and got it to work, thanks.
