What exactly is the purpose of 24 bit converters on a CD burner when youre mixing down to 16/44.1? Assuming youre downsampling internally with your soundcard when you mix down ... (why wouldnt you?!) Is this more moronic "tube" advertising?

what peice of equipment are you talking about? And what is "moronic" tube advertising? Just curious.

It seems to me that having onboard converters in your burner is only neccessary if you dont have converters elsewhere in your chain as when your recording process from start to finish is analog. At the end of which you want to convert to digital to go to CD. Correct me if Im wrong.

Moronic "tube" advertising is advertising that promotes the idea that anything with a tube in it is a superior product... The idea that having more mostly needless features on a piece of gear is better than having a few quality basic features. The idea that more is more and that it should cost more too. etc :D

the thing is though, the convertors in these 24bit cd recorders are usually of a high quality.

How much better quality are the converters in the $500-$800 CD burner bracket?

Better than the converters on the 1010?
