$200 LDC Mic that's NOT too Bright....Suggestions??

I'm looking for a budget LDC mic for vocals and VO stuff.

I've been researching for a while now, but a common criticism of cheaper LDCs is that they're very bright. I'm looking for something erring on the side of warm: CERTAINLY not something over-bright sounding.

Anyone got any suggestions? These are some of the mics I've been considering:

MXL V67G
CAD GXL3000
Rode NT1A
Studio Projects B1

I've got to be able to buy a new or used one for absolute max $200: I REALLY can't go much higher than that!! I'm using an ART Voice Channel preamp into Cubase via a USB interface.

Any ideas, O wise ones??!!:D:D
 
I've got a V67G and an AT3035 and have used em both for vocals. I lean more toward the V67 between those two. I think it's one of those "unsung heroes" in the budget mic world.
Haven't tried or heard the others you mentioned.

Same suggestion as dogbreath go for the MXL V67g and you won't be sorry.

...definately look at the KEL HM-2d...it's a condenser mic that is voiced to sound like a high quality dynamic mic (think Shure SM7B)...very big and warm sounding without any of the typical chinese condenser top-end "sizzle"... ;)

Oktava probably has some mics that fit the bill. Maybe the MK-319?
 
Cascade makes the M20 for around 120 bucks. It needs a good pre and you need the shockmount as well but its a warm sounding LDC. Condensers generally accentuate the high end. But a lot of the cheaper ones can sound brittle and harsh.
 
Get a used Audio Technica 4047 off eBay or craigslist. They are awesome!
 
The MXL V92/2003 is a decent all around mic. I've been using one for years and it's my go to mic whenever I don't have something too specific in mind like a ribbon or dynamic sound.
