Hi there,

I have one 1-inch and one half-inch VTR which I like and know that I will never have a 2-inch VTR. Just too big unless I find one of these rare 1960s units which aren't as big as an Ampex (except the portable, record-only model).

I'd like to find an old (well, oldest possible) 2-inch video tape for display purposes only. Any ideas ? The only restriction is that I don't want a sticky tape nor an empty reel.

Thanks !

Ebay, and even then they're like hen's teeth. Frankly I suspect you'll be lucky to get one from Europe at all, sticky-shed or otherwise. I've only ever seen one, and that was probably stolen from the BBC, although you might stand a better chance of getting one in the US.

Size of the machine is the least of your worries, by the way... most of the Quad recorders required an external air compressor and 3-phase power :P
