160A vs RNC

what do you think would be best for rap vocals.....i like the fact that the 160A is rackmountable..and that its made by DBX which is a trusted name...but i dont like the fact thats its twice as much as the RNC...

iv heard great reviews from both...keep in mind that im using it strickly for hiphop vocals..

i really dont want to put 400 down on just a compressor..but if it makes a huge difference..then i guess ill do it....

wat do u guys think?
 
You might want to try a Joe Meek compressor for an aggressive vocal sound that's right in your face. It might be just what the doctor ordered :D
 
Get the DBX 160!

I do a lot of hip hop and can tell you that it actually gets used on major label hip hop recordings. The VCA based DBX will give you the fast style of compression that hip hop requires... Get a DBX 160X or XT... They go for around $200 and are always popping up on eBay.
