16 Track Yamaha Hard Disc Recorder 4416

Does anyone have any inside info about this beast of a machine that is due for release in Japan sometime this month ?
It has an onboard Sampler as well as optional CD/RW burner. The only guy I spoke to estimates it will retail more expensive than the 1680 (which would make some sense given the spec). Check out www.aw4416.com for those interested.
Seems also to have a hage hard disc space compared with either the Roland 1680 or the Korg D16.
Anyone know when it might be released outside of Japan ?
Just when I thought it was down to either the 1680 or the D16....
Any info indicaing if my wait will be worthwhile would be appreciated, thanks...

I emailed Yamaha a couple of weeks ago. The guy who replied told me the MSRP was gonna be about $3300 or $3900 with the CD burner. I think its due in the US in June/july. I'm going from memory since I trashed the email. It sure looks like a bear and its got motorized faders, cool, but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money at this point even if I had it to spend.-lzb
