I have an RME Digi9636. In order to get analog output, I will need to buy an expansion card, which come 8 outputs per card.

If I use one expansion board for 8 outs and lightpipe another 8 through ADAT, will I have sync issues?

The ADAT sould be able to track the light pipe set with 'digi' as the input and clock source.
Not sure about the other way (16 A/D) though.
